Description
Summary:The two main factors associated with the performance of the distribution system is the service factor and factor costs, where the farther the distance covered in the delivery of goods will lead to long delivery time and result in higher operating costs. This study was conducted to analyze the optimal distribution of sugar in the PG. Madukismo using network analysis tools based Geographic Information System. In addition, this study also perform comparative analysis between network analysis and Tabu Search through the simulation of a distribution system improvement recommendations in PG. Madukismo in the selection of the optimal route distribution. Descriptive and quantitative analysis of the results in this research showed that the determination of the route using network analysis tools based on Geographic Information System is more optimal than if the company uses the previous route. The proposed use of network analysis produces a more optimal route in terms of distance, time, and cost. The total distribution costs incurred by the proposed route analysis performed was Rp 964,063.83, with a travel time of 5.82 hours for 145.98 km mileage. Meanwhile, if the determination was based on the existing routes, the total distribution costs incurred by the analysis conducted was Rp 979,591.93, with a travel time of 6.74 hours for 174.83 km mileage. For the analysis of simulation results show that the Tabu Search is able to produce a shorter distance is 62.05 miles than network analysis that generates a distance of 73.14 km. However, tabu search methods can not be implemented due to the company's distribution system of the company is non-canvassing while the tabu search is more suitable when used in companies that have a distribution system canvassing. Therefore, the determination of the optimal route with tabu search can be recommended for the improvement of the distribution system for the company in future studies. So network-based Geographic Information System analysis is more suitable in this study.
