Summary: | Background
Intussusception is a situation entry of one intestine segment to other intestine segment, in general toward distal and represent one of the serious condition in pediatric surgery. The mortality of invagination is about 1%, and come near zero at invagination which is nonoperative reduction. Nutrition status evaluation better be done routinely as part of assessment of condition early at period of preoperation. Child patient with ugly nutrition will have risk of mortalitas higher as well as proportional with longer care if compared to child patient with good nutrition.
Objective
This research to know relation between nutritional status of baby /child and other factors on preoperative for with occurence of complications, lenght of stay, and mortality postoperative for laparotomy at pediatric intussusception in RSUP. Dr. Sardjito.
Method
An research of retrospektif with control case analityc that is seeing occurence of complications (peritonitis
and sepsis), lenght of stay, and also mortality postoperative for laparotomy at patient of baby and child with intussusception pursuant to nutritional status onpreoperative. Patient data collected from medical record start January 2007 until December 2012.
Result
There are 37 patients, 17 boy patients (45,9%) and daughters counted 20 (54,1%). Age of patient average 11 months where eldest and young age by successively are 2 months and 50 months. 8 patient (21,6%) with malnourished status where 60% experiencing of complications. Counted 20 patients (54%) experiencing lenght of stay 7 days and which is taken care more than 7 days counted 17 (46%) with lenght of stay rate is 10,73 days and also shortest and longest lenght of stay by successively are 4 days and 77 days. Number of Mortality is 18,9% (7 cases )
Conclusion
At this research only ugly malnourished status at proven preoperative have an effect to happening
complicationsandmortalityof baby/child with intussusception experiencing laparotomy. |
