Summary: | Improvement of clean water infrastructure utilization assured able to
improve the level of public health. Government implement many policy, program
and activities to improve clean water infrastructure. Community in domestic or
industrial activities utilized many water source for multiple purposes and needs.
The problem is not all of clean water infrastructure utilization produced positive
impact on public health. Incidence of water borne disease such as diarrhea, typus,
cholera and hepatitis A is still high including in Cilacap regency.
The objective of this research is to investigate clean water condition and
accessibility, impact on public health and stakeholder response and community
adaptation in Cilacap regency. This research used quantitative method to measure
the level of accessibility of clean water infrastructure and the correlation between
clean water accessibility and public health. Measurement of the level of
accessibility used GIS software, meanwhile measurement of public health impact
used statistical technique with SPSS 15. In order to investigate stakeholder
response and community adaptation, this research used qualitative method.
Clean water infrastructure in Cilacap regency better facilitate domestic
activities rather than food and drink industrial activities. Utilization clean water
infrastructure in the domestic and food and drinks industrial activities has not
given a positive impact on public health conditions. Lack of the hygiene behavior
in clean water infrastructure utilization at domestic and industrial activities and
poor condition of sanitation contribute to public health risk in Cilacap regency. |
