Summary:The general objective of this study was to determine the extent of ALOS imagery can be used to get the element at risk in earthquake vulnerability assessment supported Quickbird satellite image data and assess the ability of ALOS imagery and mapping earthquake vulnerability in Yogyakarta. The method used in this study is a survey method with remote sensing techniques. The study was conducted by using ALOS imagery recorded in 2009 to obtain primary data directly building density interpretation of satellite imagery. ALOS imagery is also used to generate the data fault as the danger factor in this study. Quickbird imagery use in this study to support the ALOS imagery to produce the type of data structure and make interpretation key to display the density of buildings with ALOS imagery. Population density data is the only vulnerability data obtained without utilizing remote sensing techniques in this study. Population density data in this study were obtained from BPS city of Yogyakarta. All these data will be overlay and that is a process of vulnerability. The results of this process produces a vulnerability map shows the vulnerability of the earthquake hazard in Yogyakarta City. Alos imagery can be used to interpretation some elements at risk that used in the analysis of earthquake risks. ALOS image interpretation that can be generated and can be used in this research is the building density, building density integration with population density, and the factor of hazard or fault. Building density testing data interpretation using ALOS imagery reaches 90% near Quickbird image is used as the basic of the approach.
