Description
Summary:The disparity of the trading activities, which also interferes the logistic cost in Indonesia, has triggered Indonesia Port Corporation to come up with the plan of Nusantara Pendulum, the future network of container shipping in Indonesia. This network plan was designed to increase Indonesia container shipping flow from west to east and vice versa like pendulum. This research will analyze the efficiency of the Nusantara Pendulum network plan. The network efficiency is derived from Nagurney-Qiang method, which uses three data: demand, ocean freight cost, and number of ports. The importance value of each component inside the network would also being analyzed with using two methods of Nagurney-Qiang and Jenelius-Petersen-Mattson method. The most significant variables in both methods are demand and ocean freight cost. The result of analysis conclude that: 1) Nusantara Pendulum has the efficiency of 4.48 ton.rupiah, that is 44.5% higher than the existing one (3.1 ton/rupiah) 2) Tanjung Perak is the most important node in the network 3) Sorong is the least important node in the network 4) Tanjung Perak-Tanjung Priok link is the most important link in the network by flowing the high demand to east and west part of Indonesia, 5) Makassar-Sorong is the least important link in the network by its ability to flow the demand
