The objectives of this research are to identify the stages of each relationship built by Elizabeth Gilbert and the three men characters i.e. Stephen, David and Felipe, and also to analyze the development of each stage in each relationship happened in Elizabeth Gilbert’s life. This study uses objective approach to help analyze the development of Elizabeth Gilbert’s relationship that happens along the story. The primary data used are taken from the novel itself. The secondary data are from the books related to the theory of stages of love relationship and articles from the Internet. The results of this research show that Elizabeth Gilbert has different development intensities with her three relationships. The highest intensity in her love relationship is with Felipe, since both of them pass all of the stages of relationship and due to the nature of their relationship. Some similarities which can be observed are that Gilbert starts her love relationships from the beginning with both David and Felipe; she ends her love relationships with both Stephen and David on Non Love stage. The difference is that Gilbert starts her love relationship from different stages for each relationship.
