Summary:Manufacturing stem through casting process is not popular nowadays, even it is never used to produce handlebar. This process has a limitation because of both stem and handlebar have a hollow shape. The other limitation is usually the production process need CNC bending machine to make the turning contour of handlebar. Moreover, the handlebar and the stem that is produce through this process will be a lot heavier than the one that is produced through welding a seamless pipe. This research has a goal to design a light and strong handlebar and a stem of Mountain Bike. This products also have to be make through casting process. Then, this design will be analyzed using software called Abaqus 6.11 and Flow 3D. The force that is used to the handlebar and stem based on the reference �Mountain-Bicycles-Safety Requirements and Test Methods� by European Committee For Standardization. The design strength was analyzed using Abaqus 6.11. After the researcher get the desire strength, the most suitable casting process was analyzed by using Flow 3D. The design was optimized several times to get the better results. The final results for the handlebar and stem are light enough, strong, and able to be produce by casting. The assemble handlebar and stem�s weight is 0,602 kg and the safety factor is 3,15. The highest value of the stress and the displacement are happen on lateral bending test. Each value is, 56,87 and 0,39 mm.
