Description
Summary:Nowdays, both of signalised intersections in Yogyakarta which began inseparable from the problem of congestion are Kentungan and Monjali signalised intersection at North Ring Road. The problem that often occurs is the vehicles must always stop at every intersection because it always gets a red signal. Certainly, this case made the drivers feel uncomfortable, in addition to the length of delay that occured. Therefore, traffic management is required to reduce the congestion at both signalised intersections, so the traffic condition can goes well by optimize in each signalised intersection and coordinate both signalised intersections by the green wave system. The data collected in this study was done by direct surveys, including vehicles volume, vehicles speed, signal time, and geometric of both intersections. The data is used to get the most saturated existing condition which will become a reference in planning the new cycle time and green phase distribution until get the optimal condition by virtue of coordination theory. From the analysis results, known that both intersections have not been coordinated yet. From eleven scenarios, choosen new cycle time that is 130 seconds. From average speed during survey that is 71,06 km/h, so gotten that offset time for both directions is 70,93 seconds. Bandwidth obtained by coordination diagram is equal to 37 seconds for East direction and 32 seconds for West direction.
