Summary:According to ISO Standard 7730, thermal comfort is an important factor in achieving a room with a comfortable condition. In addition, thermal comfort is a thermal condition that is felt by people and conditioned by the surrounding environment. In Indonesia, comfort conditioning of inpatient unit is one of many factors considered by the hospital management. However, most of hospitals in Indonesia do not pay attention to thermal comfort factor. Therefore, temperature monitoring system is required at a hospital to know that the rooms are comfortable or uncomfortable. LM 35 is used as temperature sensor to measure temperature value in a room. Temperature data will be sent to the Arduino wirelessly via XBee. XBee is a data communication module that uses ZigBee protocol. The data received will be processed by Arduino and displayed by the human machine interface (HMI) through the computer screen. Next, temperature value will be stored by HMI in text form that can be opened by Notepad or Microsft Excel. Based on hardware testing , optimal distance XBee communication module is 45 m for regular room, and 60 m for room with LOS conditioning. Furthermore, the data received by XBee will match with the data released by the sensor. From the testing of the system, it is concluded that the device can be used to monitor within the range of 40 m with 1 minute interval.
