Summary:Although considered to be more practical, the using of dispenser still has a disadvantage that the large amount of electrical power used to cool or heat water. The large amount of electrical power which impact on the cost rate may not be too perceived for people with upper or middle class economy. But for the lower class economy, they feel very burdened with the cost of electricity is that they tend to prefer a pitcher or jug as a storage of water. Based on this background, a research in natural dispensers that do not use electrical power had been done. To review and and develop the performance of the natural dispensers, it�s necessary to make a mathematical modeling of heat and mass transfer systems in natural dispensers. In this research, on three natural dispensers which has difference in percentage of mixture of sawdust , the maximum temperature and the rate of decrement in temperature decrement is being compared. In the conduct of research, the method used is mathematical modeling and experiment. The results is the mixture of sawdust does not affect the maximum temperature decrement in natural dispensers, with a the maximum temperature decrement is 24.5oC on each dispenser. Sawdust mixture affected only on the rate of temperature decrement that is represented by the figure of merit value, which the higher the value of figure of merit, the rate of temperature decrement will be higher . The figure of merit obtained in the dispenser with 0%, 10%, and 20% mixture of sawdust respectively are 2.69E-05, 2.7E-05, and 3.01E-05. It shows the highest rate of temperature decrement is owned by the dispenser with 20% sawdust and the lowest is owned by the dispenser with 0% sawdust.
