الملخص:Ngurah Rai Forest Park is the largest mangrove rehabilitation area in Bali, which is located by the highway of Ngurah Rai. Traffic along the Ngurah Rai highway has been noticeably emitting gases from fuel combustion, particularly lead into the atmosphere. The aims of this study are (1) to estimate the rate of lead absorption by Rhizophora apiculata and Sonneratia alba leaves, (2) to identify the role of environmental factors on the lead absorption rate by Rhizophora apiculata and Sonneratia alba leaves. Two observation segments of 200 m were established in the inner dan outer mangrove area with 20 m distance. Observation was conducted from each segment which was distinguished into 10 reaches of 20 m length. Data collected were lead absorption in leaf samples of Rhizophora apiculata and Sonneratia alba, and the measurement of air temperature, air humidity and wind speed. The amount of lead absorption by mangrove leaves were analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The relationship between environmental parameter and the rateof lead absorption by the leaves was analyzed with multiple linear regression using R statistics software. The results showed that the amount oflead content in the leaves of Sonneratia alba in average was 147.69 ± 64.47 mg/kg, while that the amount of lead content in the leaves of Rhizophora apiculata leaves in average was 119.41 ± 47.20 mg/kg. In spatial, the rate of lead absorption by those mangrove species represent local rates for the area of the highway which directly opposite the Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali. The lead absorption also represent rates at the time observation. The amount of lead absorption by the mangrove leaves was ruled by environmental parameters, such as air temperature, air humidity and wind speed, which only air humidity that shows a statistically significant role.
