Summary:The author interested to take soushiki as a theme because soushiki procedure in Japan are different from Indonesia. This different culture that make the author want to learn more about funeral ceremony in Japan. The method that used by author for this graduating paper is descriptive qualitative, giving a an illustration and description clearly about some problem that has been picked based on some reference and information obtained by the author. In this graduating paper the author explain about funeral procedure in Japan, like things that need to be prepare before funeral ceremony, procedure and after funeral ceremony. Funeral ceremony in Japan are done by cremation. Some Japanese do funeral ceremony according to Buddhism. The funeral ceremony takes two days until three days consists of wake ceremony, farewell ceremony, ashes wake period, ashes burial and memorial service will be done after the funeral ceremony has been finished periodically.
