Description
Summary:Utilization of geothermal energy resources continue to be developed as a huge potency that can be harnessed into electrical energy. Process changes geothermal energy into electricity starting from the exploration of the earth to the surface. Results for the separation of water vapor product is called brine. In this study, waste brine from geothermal wells with a mass flow rate of 51.64 kg/s, temperature of 187 o C, and a pressure of 13.3 bar with the potential power generated 13.36 MW can be used for small-scale power plants by using the system Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC). ORC system is modeled using Cycle Tempo with working fluid used R-245fa. Refrigrant election is based on the nature of the fluid which has a slope of saturation vapor line isentropic. Initial modeling using the existing reference regenerative ORC system model with recuperator. The development model of ORC systems to be optimized system efficiency. System efficiency of tinitial modeling without the addition of pre heater is 5.6% and for the development models with the additional pre heater is 15.2%. With the addition of pre-heater system components can increase the efficiency by 9.6%. The results of modeling show that, the utilization of waste brine residual heat in the PT . Geo Dipa Energy Ltd. Dieng with ORC systems can generate net power of 2038.32 kW.
