ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to examine the relation among social burden and extraversion, with adjustment on family caregivers of schizophrenic patients. The major hypothesis of this study says there is a relation among social burden and extraversion, with adjustment on family caregivers of schizophrenic patients, while the minor hypothesis say 1) there is a negative correlation between social burden and adjustment, and 2) there is a positive correlation between extraversion and adjustment. Data were collected by three scales which are Social Burden Scale, Adjustment Scale, and Extraversion Subscale of Big Five Inventory. Each scale measures the level of social burden, extraversion, and adjustment. The total subject of this study are 80 family caregivers of schizophrenic patients in RSJ Grhasia and Komunitas Peduli Skizofrenia Indonesia (KPSI) Simpul Yogyakarta. Data were analiyzed by using Multiple Regression Analysis. The result showed a significant correlation among social burden, and extraversion, with adjustment on family caregivers of schizophrenic patients, where 1) there is a negative correlation between social burden and adjustment, and 2) there is a positive correlation between extraversion and adjustment. Thus, the major hypothesis and the minor hypothesis in this study are accepted
