Summary:Oxbow Lake Bengawan Solo is a stagnant waters (lentic) occurred due to disconnection of the main river Bengawan Solo. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of water fertility, water quality, and factors that affecting water fertility of Oxbow Lake Bengawan Solo in the Sidowarno Village. The research was conducted on 19 March to 16 April 2013. Research station was established by 5 stations. Sampling is done by taking a sample of water in the surface layer and then carried out the measurement of water quality parameters. The research used descriptive method. Data analysis used in this research is scoring method. Parameters that observed are temperature, brightness, DO, CO2-free, alkalinity, and density of aquatic plants (in situ). Parameters TSS, pH, BO, phosphate, nitrate, and plankton density (in laboratory). Temperature is observed by using a Hg thermometer, brightness using secchi disc, total suspended solid using miliphore filter paper, DO using winkler method, alkalinity and free CO2 using alkalimetri method, pH using a pH meter, BO with heating method, phosphate and nitrate using a colorimetric method, plankton density using sedgwick rafter, and density of aquatic plants using plot squares method. The results showed temperatures ranged from 26.8 to 28.5 0 C, ranging from 0.34 to 0.95 m of brightness, TSS ranged from 206.3 to 385.9 mg/L, DO ranged from 0.826 to 4.012 mg/L, CO2-free ranged from 22.04 to 36.04 mg/L, alkalinity ranged from 81 to 93.4 mg/L, pH ranged from 6.88 to 6.92, BO ranged from 15.94 to 26.32 mg/L, phosphate ranged from 0.101 to 0.52 mg/L, nitrate ranged from 0.066 to 0.532 mg/L, plankton densities ranged from 40 to 151.6 cells/L and density of aquatic plants ranged from 55.3 to 75 clusters/m 2 . The fertility of Oxbow Lake Bengawan Solo in Sidowarno Village Klaten is at eutrophic level with a score of 300. Factors affecting the water fertility are organic waste and people activities in the field of fisheries
