The final project in the background by the importance of learning about the electric motor, in particular a direct current electric motor (DC motors). Different of DC motors with AC motors in terms of maintenance, where the DC motors should be checked more often. The things that need to be checked on a DC motor which among other things, check the cleanliness and the flat surface of the commutator whether or not it, check the length of its carbon brush, check coolant motors (blower), and examine its grease. On this occasion 150 KW DC motors are the property of PT P&I INDONESIA were damaged. Where damage occurs it requires the motor to do an overhaul. Overhaul is a repair process on the electric motor by checking its stator and rotor. On the stator, including checking and repair, cleaning of winding dirt, then provide liquid Red Oxylide and last in the oven which aims to raise the value of its insulation resistance. As for the rotor, checking and improvement of them do drops test aimed to see if there is a short between the lamelle on its commutator, bearing replacement and the old grease and do the rotor balancing. Then at the end, before testing the motor, handlebar holder should be parallel with the field winding or often referred to as zero. This needs to be done so that when the motor is running, the commutator does not cause sparks (sparking). By the time motor is said to have good test, if the input voltage is low, the value of rotation meets and the commutator of non sparking, then it can be said the motor was good. |
