Description
Summary:This study aims to analyze the relationship between income, education rate of women and female labor force participation rate in Indonesia. The previous studies suggest a U-shaped relationship where women leave the labor market at early stages of economic development and return when a white collar sector develops. This study replicates previous studies using data panel of 30 provinces in Indonesia over the period of 2002-2011 with fixed effect approach. The result show a U-shaped relationship between income and female labor force participation rate where income and education rate of women show a significant effect toward female labor force participation rate.
