Summary:Background: Tuberculosis is a communicable disease that still become as a main concern of the world.The transformation occurred of this tuberculosis influences some aspects on human life, so it causes the decrease of quality of life. One of the effort to increase quality of life is using peer support group therapy adapted with age and duration of treatment Purpose:To discover the effect of peer group therapy towards quality of life of tuberculosis patients at Rumah Sakit Paru Respira UPKM Yogyakarta Method: This study is a quasi experiment with pretest and post-test one group design without control group with the help of a qualitative approach . Data collection was conducted from June 2013 to September 2013 through compliance questionnaires and indeepth interview. The sample in this study were 7 respondents of tuberculosis patients. Sampling technique was done by purposive sampling. Data was analised by descriptive quantitative.The analysis also used the result of intimate interview that had been done to respondents using interaction model data analytical technique from Miles and Huberman. Result: There were 8 domains on quality of life according to Short Form � 36 questionnaire, but not all domains on quality of life increased. The result intimate interview showed that there not increase all of domain of quality of life due physical activity domain and social function domain according to question given by respondents. It was showed that significant increase on overall quality of life according to pretest and posttest. Conclusion: Peer support group therapy could increase overall quality of life.
