Summary: | This research aimes to know the productivity of several pomising lines of tropical wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) in the upline zone in order to develope it in Indonesia. This research was carried out in upline zone of Berjo, Ngargoyoso, Karanganyar, Central Java, started from July up to December 2011. This research used eight promising lines of introduced tropical wheat (WEAVER, RAYON, PJN, KAUZ*2, CAZO, ALTAR 84, IAS 62 and FANG 60), five promising lines of mutant (CBD-16, CBD-17, CBD-20, CBD-23 and CPN-01) and two national varieties as the control (var. Selayar and var. Dewata). The doses of fertiliser are as high as 150 kg/ha Urea, 200 kg/ha SP36 and 100 kg/ha KCl. A field experiment was carried out according to Completely Randonized Complete Block Design with three blocks as replication. Data was analyzed according to variance analysis followed by Duncans Multiple Range Test and orthogonal contrast with 95% of significance level. Observation focused on variables as follows: plant height, number of internode, tillering number, spike lenght, the number of spike rows, flowering date, harvesting date, the number of seeds per spike, the weight of seed per spike, grain yield per plot and a 1000 seeds weight. The research shows that the average grain yield of introduced promising lines (1,23 ton/ha) and mutant lines (1, 34 ton/ha) has no significance in comparison with that of control variety (0,93 ton/ha). Variety Altar 84 has the highest yield (2,42 ton/ha) compared to variety Selayar (1,40 ton/ha) and variety Dewata (0,46 ton/ha) as controls.Variety Altar 84 is superior in some yield component traits i.e. grain weight per spike (1,49 g), a 1000 grain weight (35,63 g) and grain yield per plot (1,09 kg). Variety Altar84 and KAUZ*2 (1,56 ton/ha) as introduced lines and CBD-16 (1,77 ton/ha), CBD-17 (1,66 ton/ha) and CBD-20 (1,55 ton/ha)as mutants are potential to develope. Heritability of plant height (84,19%), flowering date(97,85%), harvesting date (100%) and a 1000 grain weight (61,38%) are categorised into high level of heritability. |
