The conventional ignition system still works mechanically by using platinum, while the electronic ignition system (CDI) works electronically with 3 main components: Igniter, Signal rotor, and a pick up coil. Final goal is to compare the exhaust gas emissions when using contact point ignition system and replaced using CDI ignition system (Capasitive Discharge Ignition). Testing in this final project is exhaust gas emissions in cars Daihatsu zebra, focused thesis writers are testing fuel consumption on 800, 1000, 1200 and 1500 rpm. Conducted the testing process testing distributor taking CDI, then testing exhaust gas emissions in conventional ignition system using PROTECH FLUX 5000 and exhaust gasemissions testing on electronic ignition system (CDI). From the results of testing exhaust gas emissions using conventional ignition system to get the CO 0,148 %, CO2 0,327 %, O2 6,64 %, HC 604 ppm in 800 rpm. And then, on 1000 rpm is CO 0,114 %, CO2 0,234 %, O2 7,18 %, HC 236 ppm. And then 1200 rpm is CO 0,145 %, CO2 0,277 %, O2 7,70 %, HC 209 ppm. And the last 1500 rpm is CO 0,165 %, CO2 0,250 %, O2 9,70 %, HC 146 ppm.After that, testing exhaust gas emissions using CDI ignition system to get the CO 0,077 %, CO2 0,286 %, O2 3,96 %, HC 318 ppm in 800 rpm. And then, on 1000 rpm is CO 0,106 %, CO2 0,254 %, O2 6,15 %, HC 261 ppm. And then 1200 rpm is CO 0,118 %, CO2 0,185 %, O2 9,41 %, HC 145 ppm. And the last 1500 rpm is CO 0,177 %, CO2 0,270 %, O2 9,64 %, HC 125 ppm. From the research, it can be concluded that the CDI ignition system was used by Daihatsu Zebra has good emission and save environment than conventional ignition system.
