Summary: | Forensic entomology is a branch of forensic science in entomology and
studying the role of insects in forensic interest. Determining the location and
length of time of death is entomologi influenced by external factors such as
season, altitude, temperature, humidity, rice fields, forests and other. The aim of
this study was to determine the diversity and the role of various types of insects
on carcase R. tanezumi decomposition process results in the rice fields and forest.
Research was carried out in the forest Faculty of Biology UGM and rice fields
village in Pandowoharjo, Sleman for 13 days. The method was used in this
research the life rat trap to catch rat alive and bottle trap for insects. Rearing of
insects with the soil medium was bottle 1.5 L and then the of were insects were
preserved and identified. Parameters ecologicl has been there observed were the
diversity and abundance of insects. The abundance data was analysed by using the
Shannon-Winer index and described the role of insects. The results of research
obtained that two species of rat were R. Tanezumi and Suncus murinus. In
addition 10 species of insect belong to from 7 family were identified from 2
location of the research sampling. Shannon & Winer index showed that two
species diversity of insect from the two rats species in the Forest of Biology UGM
and Rice Field Sleman respectively were H' = 1.12 and H' = 1.06. The dominancy
of insect in forest was Sarcophaga ruficornis (Diptera) and on Rice Field, Sleman
was Lucilia sericata (Diptera). As a conclusion the two species of insects mention
above were membered of Order Diptera were the carcase decomposer insects. |
