Summary: | The research was conducted at PT Bank X (Persero) Tbk, one stateowned
bank with over 26.000 employees spread over 1,500 domestic branches
and 5 overseas branches including its representatives and supported by
subsidiary engaged in capital markets, Islamic banking, life insurance and bank
with a focus on micro and consumer finance segments. This study aims to
determine whether there is a relationship between the perception of regular
inhouse training with employee commitment to the organization.
The research was conducted by the method of observation and survey
techniques. The data used in the form of primary data and secondary data.
Primary data were obtained through questionnaires, while secondary data
obtained from the study of company documents and literature. The number of
respondents in this study is 395 employees consisting of senior management and
staff from around the region office (12 regions) throughout Indonesia. The
sampling technique used in this study is based on the norm of non probability
sampling.
To examine the relationship between the independent and dependent variables
used simple regression analysis. Processing data using statistical tests that have
been provided by the SPSS version 16.0 for Windows.
The analysis of the data obtained shows that there is a very close
relationship between employee perceptions of training with the three components
of organizational commitment. Value of the correlation coefficient (R) = 0.677,
showing that there is a very close relationship between the variables Perceptions
of Training (X) with Affective Commitment (Y1). Value of the correlation
coefficient (R) = 0.764, showing that there is a very close relationship between
the variables Perceptions of Training (X) with a commitment continuance (Y2).
Value of the correlation coefficient (R) = 0.819, showing that there is a very close
relationship between the variables Perceptions of Training (X) with Normative
Commitment (Y3). Additional analyzes that examine the relationship between
demographic factors consisting of gender, marital status, employment status,
work unit, job title, education level, age and years of service with the three
components of organizational commitment shows that do not have a significant
relationship.
With a positive and significant correlation between perceptions of
training with the rest of organizational commitment, should PT Bank X (Persero)
Tbk be more focused in providing training to employees with the aim of enhancing
organizational commitment. |
