Summary:Background: Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is an indicator of development a nation. Bojonegoro last five years trying to bring down maternal mortality rate that fluctuate and tends to rise. Low coverage of antenatal care (ANC) is the cause of high maternal mortality rate. Efforts to increase the ANC can be done through the health promotion. Theory of Health Belief Model (HBM) and the Learning Process underlying health promotion aimed at the formation of knowledge and attitudes ANC in pregnant women. Health education through active learning techniques of think-pair-share and kartu mandiri ibu hamil are expected to improve the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women to ANC. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of health education through active learning techniques of think-pair-share and media kartu mandiri ibu hamil to increase their knowledge and attitudes towards pregnant women about ANC in Bojonegoro District. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study with pretest and posttest control group design. Population and sample are pregnant women in Puskesmas Kedungadem as intervention group, and in Puskesmas Mejuwet as control group. Samples were taken in a consecutive sampling method as many as 27 pregnan women in each group. Technique analysis using Independent sample T test and Paired T test with significance level of α 5% The result: There is a significant increase in knowledge and attitude of pregnant women on ANC after receiving health education through active learning techniques of think-pair-share and giving of media kartu mandiri ibu hamil. There was no difference in the increase of knowledge and attitude towards the ANC between the group that received health education through active learning methods tink-pair-share and media kartu mandiri ibu ahmil with group that receiving health education through lecture and buku KIA.
