Summary: | The disaster risk reduction nowadays has become the mainstream of development in Indonesia. The effectiveness of disaster management institutionalization, both at national level and regional level (province/regency/municipality), which has conducted several activities dealing with disaster prevention and preparedness. The participation of community is also a key success of disaster management. Indonesian community really elevates community bond and kinship, and also considers them as necessity to earn a living for each individual. Disaster risk reduction community action plan is one of the urgent solutions to reduce disaster in disaster resilient village in Indonesia. These research aim to know how is Community Action Plan for disaster risk reduction.
One of resilient villages in Indonesia piloted by the National Board for Disaster Management is Poncosari Village. Poncosari Village is situated in Srandakan District, Bantul Regency, the Special District of Yogyakarta Province.
The main disaster threat of this village is tsunami. Thus, the priority of disaster risk reduction community action plan in Poncosari is to cope with tsunami. |
