This study aims to look at the programming policies implemented in the production process of news programs on television, especially given the growing number of news programs that exist in Indonesia�s current television world. The research object is blocking packages on 811SHOW broadcasted on METRO TV programs. Blocking packages are prepared by the METRO TV segment in order to to lure sponsors and advertisers. Using this, the segment sponsors and advertisers can freely promote their products or events. The 811SHOW itself is a pioneer program that incorporates elements of entertainment news programming into their show, and differs from other news programs in that they tend to be packaged and delivered in a straight hardnews format. The method used in this study is a descriptive case study of the policy - exploratory blocking programming packageon the 811SHOW program . With this method, researchers can simply analyse factors surrounding the problem, whilst using limited research material. The research was conducted by direct field observation, interviews and literature study . In this study, the author not only observed the production operations, but was also directly involved. This was done to better understand each of the components at production level. Based on the research, the whole 811SHOW blocking packages set policy is not made through the Programming Department of programming authority as regulators and managers of all programming details of METRO TV. Thus the content from the blocking package does not yet have the correct regulation for every program. This study was prepared in the hope of becoming an additional reference and a small contribution to the study of television programming, in particular policy programming for information news programs on television.
