Summary:Backround : Water is a substance that is essential to the survival of mankind. The water does not contain energy, but very important in everyday life. The human body needs water in a day according to the amount of water that comes out or is lost from the body. Emotions play an important role in individual lives, emotions also give color to personality, as well as his activities and will also affect the well-being and mental health Aim : to identify the relationship of fluid consumption emotion response in college students at GADJAH MADA UNIVERSITY Methods : This research is research with deksriptif analytic approach obervational and design cross sectional. Some students who fulfill the criteria 293 ugm inclusion Namely male undergraduates 18-20 years old in consumption interview about one fluid during last week using a semi quantitative food frequency questionnaire then respondents see a video that stimulates emotion anger and fear. Results : The average number of drinks consumed by students UGM is 2179,32± 866,58 SD the most frequent type of drinks consumed by student UGM is tea, milk and fruit juice. The prevalence of emotional response is angry at UGM was 81.2% and fear the emotional response 38,2%. Types of drinks are associated significantly with angry emotion response drink is coffee (p<0.05), drink carbonation (p<0.05) and drink isotonik (p<0.5), whereas the type of beverage that is associated with a significant emotional response is fear of milk fermentation (p<0.05), milk (p<0.05), ice cream (p<0.05), chocolate (p<0.05), fruit juice (p<0.05), orange juice (p<0.05) and alcohol (p< 0.05). Conclusion : the average amount of fluid consumption significantly associated with emotional response fear. Coffee, drink carbonation and drink isotonic can affect response emotion angry and drink fermented milk, milk, ice cream, chocolate drinks, fruit juice, drink orange juice and drink alcohol can affect emotional response to fear. Further research needs to be done about the factors that directly affect the response of emotions.
