| Summary: | Child with autism is a child having a disturbance of concentration in
learning, socializing and communicating with other people. Child with autism in
conducting learning process need a specific media in order to make them much
more understand about the learning subjects. The media known to be effective for
child with autism is an audiovisual media because it affects the affective,
cognitive and psychomotor skills. The audiovisual media given used a cartoon
animation media that contain about how to maintain oral health. The purpose of
this study was to find out the effect of a cartoon animation media towards oral
health behavior shown in a plaque score measurement.
Subjects were 25 cooperative students with autism in a school of autism
and hyperactive Citra Mulia Mandiri, secondary school of autism Fredofios and
school of autism Bina Anggita. Subjects were performed a plaque score
measurement test before DHE being given, after 5 days of cartoon animation
video being given, a plaque score measurement was performed in 1 to 2 weeks
after watching cartoon animation.
The result (p<0,05) which meant there was a different plaque score
measurement in before and after 2 weeks DHE being given which can be
concluded that animation media had an effect on decreasing plaque score in child
with autism after DHE being given in 2 weeks. |
