Summary:Cobra blood herb was one of the traditional herbal medicines which were believed to have many health benefits for the human body. One obstacle faced did not know how much contamination of bacteria contained in the blood potions. Salmonella sp and Staphylococcus aureus are a bacterium that can cause food poisoning. Contamination of Salmonella sp should be negative on the food and Staphylococcus aureus is a common bacteria encountered in food products. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of Salmonella sp and Staphylococcus aureus in blood herbal cobra. This study used 10 blood samples as herbs and 10 others used from cobra pure blood. Blood was drawn through the heart and blood for herb taken by cutting head. Each sample was put into a sterile tube. Staphylococcus aureus testing was done directly by the scratch method and casting methods on Vogel Jhonson Agar media and incubated at 370 C at temperatures for 24 hours. Staphylococcus aureus will grow with the growth of black colonies. In Salmonella sp testing, 1 ml tube inserted into 9 ml of Buffered Peptone Water and incubated at 370 C for 24 hours. Then took 1 ml from it and put into a tube containing 9 ml Tetrathionate Enrichment Broth and incubated at 370 C for 24 hours. After that, it planted on Xylose Lysine Desoxycholate Agar media by scratched method to be incubated upside down at a temperature of 370 C for 24 hours. Salmonella sp will be detected by the growth of black colonies. The results showed the presence of contamination of Salmonella sp and Staphylococcus aureus in blood and in cobra blood potions. Staphylococcus aureus has an average number of the same contamination between blood and potions. Salmonella sp showed ther
