Summary: | Formula is a race car that became the top of automotive technology at this
time . One class is Formula SAE formula car . This competition tested the ability
to accelerate , maneuver and performance of the formula cars that made by
student. Design of the drivetrain system and the differential on the Formula SAE
car is one of the determining factors during the car acceleration capabilities and
maneuver.
Designing Limited Slip Differential and drivetrain system can be an
effective strategy to maximize efforts above. This study aims to improve formula
SAE car Bimasakti UGM for dynamic event on formula SAE. This research
includes design of drivetrain system , differential and drive line . This research is
design and manufacture of drivetrain systems and testing in dynotest reach 50 hp.
Design target is also to get a new system that lighter than the previous year.
Dynamic testing also done to analyze the driving wheel spin during acceleration
or when turning .
The final results of this study found that the design is able to withstand the
power reaches 52 hp at dynotest. Mass of this sistem is 15 kg and 23 % lighter
than previous mass. When acceleration occurs both driving wheels revolution
difference reached 3.87. Conclusion from this research meets this design that has
been meet to the design target and this design can aplly to the Bimasakti UGM
formula SAE car. |
