Job opportunity is a right which guarantee by laws for every Indonesian citizen.
Job opportunity indicates the rate of manpower who absorbed in job market.
Especially for women, the opportunity to enter job market has opened wider
because of fertility rate has decreased and life expectancy rate has increased. In
2015, the free market will be going on between ASEAN states. On that free
market, not only capital and technology flow, but also manpower flow will occur.
The aims of this research are to analyse the change and the growth of womens
job opportunity by its field, type and status of job. This research used secondary
data from National Labor Force Survey (SAKERNAS) 2007, 2009, and 2011 on
2nd semester (August). This data sourced from Bureau of Statistic (BPS)s
publication. This research has used area analysis unit on province level. The
secondary data analysis was descriptive analysis and time series analysis.
Result of the research shows that womens job opportunity in Central Java has
changed into service sector, type of job has dominated by semi skilled job,
whereas informal job status has absorbed more than 60 percent employment. Job
opportunity growth has increased on manufacture and service sector, semi skilled
job, and formal job status. |
