Soedarmanto Indarjulianto ETD Dermatophytosis is a zoonotic disease caused by one or more species of fungi from the group of dermatophytes. Recently, the development of traditional drugs is widely used in medical treatment. Medicinal plants which are often used by people are sirih merah (Piper crocatum Ruiz & Pav) and patah tulang (Euphorbia tirucalli.Linn). The objective of the study is to isolate Microsporum canis of cats and to find out the antifungal sensitivity of sirih merah and patah tulang against Microsporum canis by performing test in vitro. The sample of the study was five cats which are clinically suspected of having dermatophytosis with clinical lesions including alopesia, erythema, papula, and pustulae scaly. The skin scrapings and hair scrapings were examined using Wood�s lamp. The hair scrapings were examined by using natif and isolated and identified on the modified SDA (Sabouraud Dextrose Agar) macroscopically and microscopically.
