Summary: | This research focused on the use of ASTER imagery in presenting spatial
information on land cover and surface temperatures. Information about land
cover was provided by VNIR subsystem, and surface temperatures was
provided by TIR subsystem. This information is then developed to find the
spatial distribution of surface temperature ties with land cover.
The method used in this study is a method of remote sensing assisted with
the analysis of the relationship matrix to measure the effect of land cover on
surface temperature. The goal is to determine the value representing the land
cover and surface temperatures.
The results indicate that the type of land cover is affecting the surface
temperature distribution. Value of the average surface temperature for the
class of vacant land / building is about 32° to 34°C and can sometimes reach
36°C. Otherwise, the area which dominated by vegetation cover, will have a
surface temperature values lower on average which is about 26° to 28°C and
can even reach 24°C. Classes that fall into the category of vacant land /
buildings tend to have a high surface temperature value. |
