This area had acknowledged by the only one conservation area in Depok, West
Java. The aim of this study is to understand the public perception of sustainability
Taman Hutan Raya Pancoran Mas.
This is a qualitative study that conducted with snowball sampling
technique. Data collected by interviewing the informant in order to understand
Kampung Baru community perception of sustainability Taman Hutan Raya
Pancoran Mas viewed from three aspects : conservation aspect, socio-cultural
aspect, and management aspect. The data in this study analyzed using descriptive
qualitative analysis, which is presented in the form of narrative text, images and
tables.
The results showed that public had already thinking to preserve and to take
care of Tahura Pancoran Mas, but they have not been realized in form of real
action. Then the public aware about some myths that developed in Tahura and
they are admited not to damage the it. Because of the romours, Kampung Baru
community have a unique action to keep and preserve Tahura that called local
wisdom and then the people do not feel involved yet in the management of Tahura
Pancoran Mas that caused the decline of public interest in preserving Tahura. |
