PT. Caterpillar Indonesia is a manufacture company that manufactures heavy equipment, so that the distribution of material to use auxiliary lift truck. The size and weight of material that does not allow to manually removed by hand. In the work process of lift truck should be in good condition and ready to be used, so that the production process can proceed smoothly. Therefore it is necessary for a scheduled maintenance and planned well to prevent damage to the components of the lift truck. However, the conditions in fact are very different, the implementation of the preventive maintenance schedule has not been run in accordance with the guidelines that should be a lift truck maintenance. Mechanical or lift truck operators often ignore the lift truck maintenance schedule but it is very important to note and implemented on schedule. So I took this issue to be used as the title of the thesis with the aim to improve the scheduling of preventive maintenance policy planning units lift truck.
The method used in this thesis there are several kinds. First by doing literature research, the second is direct observation or observation methods, and the latter by conducting interviews with sources that exist.
To support preventive maintenance, the authors make a check sheet that contains a list of the main components of lift truck (Engine, radiator, transmission and differential, hydraulic, brakes, tires, lubricated, and electrically) that needs to be treated regularly. So expect after applying the check sheet maintenance activities lift truck can run a regular schedule. |
