Description
Summary:The world today is faced with the issue of global warming that within the next few years the earth will experience a significant increase in temperature. Greening material is an alternative to the use of greening response in land that is not used as a wall, and a roof garden that has existed in Japan. Research has been done greening material RECAT group (Research Collaboration in Agroindustrial Technology) for Hargobinangun with agroekowisata program. Research has been running from 2011 which in turn will lead to the commercial industry. Stages that must be passed is scale up to increase the scale of production while maintaining the quality of the laboratory scale and commercial scale. This study aims to determine the critical point greening material production process, design the aquarium proliferation pilot plant scale to scale up production of greening material with dimensional analysis method, and compare the quality of the product of laboratory scale and product pilot plant scale. The flow of the study began with the identification of critical points of production processes based decision tree. Then design a pilot plant scale to collect data based on observations of laboratory scale variables and previous research. The data is used to design a pilot plant scale by dimensional analysis method and the similarity principle. The results of these methods is the design of variable size scale pilot plant to be created. Pilot plant used for the production made in order to compare the quality of the product both scales is the rate of photosynthesis. Comparing both product quality scale test that is statistically different from the two independent samples t test. Critical point of the production process moss greening material lies in the proliferation process. Results proliferation size aquarium pilot plant scale is length 53.33 cm, width 26.67 cm, height 33.33 cm and diameter air stone is 2 cm. Aquarium water volume proliferation pilot plant scale is 29.63 liters. Comparison of average yield rate of photosynthesis between laboratory scale and pilot plant scale is significantly different. It shows that the standard variables existing proliferation process is not yet a standard optimum test that results scale pilot plant photosynthesis greater results.
