Description
Summary:Comparison of Topical Applications of Human Saliva, Aloe vera,Moist dressing on Healing Time of Second Degree Burn Wound in Rats (Rattus norvegicus) By Budi Cahyono Putro Burn wound healing is a complex process. Growth factors and cytokines have important roles in this process. Human saliva is composed not only growth factors and cytokines but also many other components. They play role in wound healing. The aim of this study is to compare the wound healing time of second degree burn wound with topical application of human saliva,Aloe vera and moist dressing. Thirty Sprague dawley rats were randomly divided into group I, II and III that was treated by Unstimulated Human Saliva, Aloe vera and Moist dressing respectively. Healing Time was measured by clinical evaluation on 14 consecutive days and Histopathology analysis. As the result, the healing time of Saliva and Moist dressing was significantly different.(p<0,05),and the healing time of Saliva and Aloe vera was significantly different (p<0,05).In conclusion saliva can promote wound healing on superficial parthial thickness burn compared to moist dressing and aloe vera.
