Description
Summary:In mobile communications, frequency spectrum is a limited natural resource that must be used efficiently. The solution to improve efficiency of frequency allocation is using a frequency reuse pattern. In the LTE network, there is a new idea about frequency reuse pattern, that is Fractional Frequency Reuse (FFR). This paper presents about simulation results on the quality of the LTE network used LTE-Sim simulator. The purpose is increasing the quality and efficiency of LTE networks by using frequency reuse technique, such as FFR. This research is conducted on the LTE network with 3MHz bandwidth, 6 watt transmit power, and used six- cells configuration with a fractional frequency reuse three layers then simulated seven frequency reuse patterns, two patterns of non- fractional (FRF = 1/3 and FRF = 1) and five fractional patterns (with a variety of power). Comparison of quality is tested using the BE application with goodput parameter. The test results show that the FFR technique improves those quality of the LTE network. The results obtained using FFR scheme is able to exceed the results obtained using FRF = 1 or FRF = 1/3. When compared with FRF = 1/3, FFR increases the goodput up to 119 % and up to 14 % when compared with FRF = 1
