Summary: | Security and surveillance regions of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia,
which consists of over 17,000 islands with 2/3 the area consists of oceans will
require apparatus and equipment amounted to very large. Indonesia also has one
of the world's largest beach with a length of more than 80,000 km. In fact, the
ability of the Navy and Police to oversee the Indonesian area is so limited. One
way to improve the ability of government officials in monitoring and securing the
area is by using radar to monitor the movement of Coast Guard ships so as to
prevent actions that may harm the Republic of Indonesia and also when the ship
was about to crash into the harbor dock. Radar Installation Coastguard great
power (high power) on the side of the boat or land (around the coast) can be used
to monitor a wide sea area up to several tens of nautical miles. Coastal
surveillance radar ISRA used to detect an object such as marine vessels operating
in Indonesian waters.
The detected object can be known of its kind on the basis of information
obtained by the radar of the characteristics of the object. In radar, a target is
characterized by its Radar Cross Section (RCS) function. RCS estimation and
calibration for the radar is a very important aspect for the accurate estimation of
target information. Radar Cross Section through the estimated size of the object
can be detected. RCS calculation is one of the most important part of the radar
signal processing for object detection.
The theory of the RCS is presented as a basis for the calculation of the
RCS. Simulation using MATLAB for Radar Cross Section (RCS) has been carried
out along with the results obtained from the simulation. |
