Description
Summary:Backgrounds: Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) has a high prevalence in the community and nearly 10% of people exposed to a UTI during their life. Improper use of antibiotics can lead to bacterial resistance and increased patient suffering. Tujuan: Knowing the patterns of bacteria from urine specimens cultured in the Microbiology Laboratory Faculty of Medicine Gadjah Mada University and the sensitivity of bacteria that are found to some antibiotics Metode: This study conducted a retrospective observational results are then processed by descriptive. Hasil: Found a total of 125 isolates of gram-negative bacteria and gram-positive. The most common bacteria found are Escherichia coli (29.6%), Enterococcus sp. ( 14.4%), Pseudomonas sp. (10.4%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (8.8%) and Staphylococcus epidermidis (7.2%). The most potent antibiotics are amikacin (73.6%), gentamycin (62.4%), Cefepime (59.2%), meropenem (55.2%) and levofloxacin (51.2%). The least potent antibiotics are penicillin G (88.8%), erythromycin (85.6%), ampicillin (84.8%), cefixime (72.8%) and tetracycline (68%). Kesimpulan: The main cause of UTI is E. coli. The most potent antibiotics for UTI is amikacin and the least potent is penicillin G.
