Summary: | Copyright is one of the Indonesia Intellectual Law�s objects. Under the terms
of Article 1 Undang-Undang 19 tahun 2002, copyright can be understood as an
exclusive right for the author or recipient of the right to publish or reproduce
creations. In accordance with the provisions of the Articles, announcements or
multiplication of a copyright work must be authorized by the copyright owner.
Granting permission of the creator or copyright holder to another party to publish or
reproduce the creations known as licensing. License set forth in Article 45 Undang-
Undang 19 tahun 2002. The provisions contained in Act No. 19 of 2002 on Copyright
should be able to protect the interests of holders Copyright in Indonesia.
In this these, outlining the conditions of Intellectual Property Law in
Indonesia, where the reality on the ground indicates a violation of the interests of the
licensee Publisher. Violation is due to the scanlation that could be classed as piracy in
cyberspace (online piracy). This study formulates legal actions that can be taken to
protect the licensee Publishers interests. After the formulation of the legal action, this
study also discusses the future prospects of the legal arrangements to protect the
interests of publishers licensee related to scanlation activity |
