Summary:Background : Multi Drug Resistance Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) is a global problem for tuberculosis treatment. Culture as gold standard for diagnosis MDR-TB is slow to get the result. WHO recommend the use of geneXpert as sensitive and spesific rapid method to diagnose MDR-TB. This research�s objective is to compare the result of geneXpert and LJ Culture for diagnostic method for MDR-TB suspect. Objectives : To compare the result of geneXpert and LJ Culture as diagnostic method for MDR-TB suspect. Method : This study used observational design. The subject were secodary data of patient suspected MDR-TB in the tuberculosis laboratory, department of microbiology Faculty of Medicine Universitas Gadjah Mada. This patient was examined by GeneXpert and LJ culture.Basic from the data, then comparison between the diagnostic test performed. LJ culture used as gold standard in this study. Results : Diagnostic test result show the geneXpert have senstivity 0.960, spesivisity 0.660, Positive Predictive Value 0.600, Negative Predictive Value 0.970 likelihood ratio positive 2,820, Likelihood Ratio Negative 0,061, Prevalence 0,347. Conclusion : GeneXpert has high sensitivity, but has low spesivisity.
