Summary: | Nowadays, public relations cannot be separated and already have a firm
place in company�s structure. Public relations are also admitted as one of the
important elements in achieving company�s success. Public relations professionals
need to understand their role in order to contribute, participate and potentially
determine future of a company through their program. This study examines how
hospital's public relations have a role in a hospital program called international
accreditation. In this case study of RSUP Dr Sardjito, the aim of this study is to
understand the public relations' role in achieving international accredited hospital
by Joint Commission International. This study will not only discuss the role of
public relations for international accreditation, but also what the contributions that
public relations have given in achieving international accreditation by Joint
Commission International.
The excellence theory of public relations and hospital accreditation
provided a framework for integrating concepts from the literature about public
relations' role, hospital's public relations, and international accreditation by Joint
