The main character of Warawaretako story is Kichi. The story itself is telling about the life of a young boy named Kichi whose always become the mocking topic in his family about his future. His dad has full control about Kichi�s future, and his mom rarely lets him play. Because he often got mocked, Kichi dreams about eerie face that laugh at him tauntly. Since that nightmare, Kichi started to have weird habitude. One of which is secluding himself in the attic while making mask. The type of analysis that used for this short story is using Psychoanalysis approach by Karen Horney. Karen explained that children who did not get enough affections while in their childhood will cause basic anxiety feeling. Basic anxiety feeling which could not be treated rightly and properly will have a big apportunity on building their neurotic�s need. The purpose of this research is to explain Kichi�s reaction to overcome his basic anxiety, and also to explain about Kichi�s childhood experiences when his anxiety started. From this research, the conclusion is based on Kichi�s traumatic experience during his childhood creates basic enmity feeling that grow becomes basic neurotically anxiety. This research also shows how Kichi overcomes his anxiety by making distance with other people as can be seen from his weird habitude by secluding himself in the attic to make mask. By all of that, it can be concluded that Kichi has neurotic personality. Mistekes in the nurturing pattern can cause kids to grow in an unhealthy personality, parents should not mock their kid�s weaksness, but should be able to understand their kid�s feeling.
