Summary:Contaminant growth of fungal is a problem on oyster mushroom cultivation media, a research about identification contaminant on oyster mushroom cultivation media and in order to find antifungal agents from ethanol extract of galangal (Alpinia galanga L.) had been conducted. Sampling contaminants from oyster mushrooms media then inoculated in vitro in PDA ( Potato Dextrose Agar ) and identified. The results of the identification of fungal contaminants derived from oyster mushroom cultivation media were Rhizopus sp., Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus niger dan Mucor sp.. Testing antifungal potential of ethanol extract of galangal preliminary test was conducted by determining concentration of galangal extract, 0, 20, 40, 60, 80 % performed three replications further test the concentration increased further to determine the MIC ( Minimum Inhibitory Concentration ) 0, 60, 70, 80 % and performed three replications. As control the media used PDA without treatment as a comparison . Further testing with paperdisc diffusion method using Whatman paper with MIC ethanol extract known that 70 %. The results showed that the preliminary test, and the test continued galangal ethanol extract has inhibitory against the growth of mold contaminants that evidenced the absence of hyphae growth of 100 % over the 5 day incubation . In the absence of widespread diffusion method paperdisc inhibition zone on MIC galangal extracts each fungal Rhizopus sp. has a diameter of inhibition zone was 0.516 , A. fumigatus have was 0.416 , A. niger was 0.308 , Mucor sp. was 0.358 . Ethanolic extract of galangal be antifungal against Rhizopus sp. , A. fumigatus, A. niger And Mucor sp. effective concentration to inhibit the growth of hyphae was 70 %.
