Latif Budi Suparna, M.Sc. ETD ing As the widespread us of paving blocks, pavement structure research on the behavior of paving blocks to provide traffic loads also began much done. The using of finite element method to analyze paving blocks pavement structure is considered as the best method, because the analysis divides the structure into smaller parts, so it can represent the real condition of the structure. coefficient value used are This research conducted analysis of asphalt and paving blocks pavements. Asphalt pavement were analyzed by three-layer systems and finite element method by SAP 2000 program. Structural behavior study of this research are stresses and deflection that occurs below of the surface layer. Analysis results of three-layer systems on asphalt pavement is used as a control for SAP 2000 calculation. Furthermore, analysis of paving blocks pavement using SAP 2000 program with a variety of shear springs coefficient, loads and placement of the load center are conducted. Variation of shear springs 390 MPa, 440 MPa, 490 MPa, 540 MPa and 590 MPa. Variation of loads used are 15 kN, 20 kN, 25 kN, 30 kN and 30 kN. While variation of load center point locations are at the middle and the edge of the block. are The result showed there small differences between three-layer systems and SAP 2000 calculation which is 1,61 % for deflection and 4,33 % for stress. In testing the effect of shear springs coefficient value, deflection that occurs will be reduced per 0.001 mm by increasing the shear springs coefficient per 50 MPa. The relationship between shear springs coefficient value with stresses is polynomial order 2. Research findings on the paving blocks pavement showed a linear relationship between deflection and load increasing. Deflection will increas 0,009 mm by increasing load 5 kN and stress will increas 99,81 kN/m 2 by increasing load 5 kN. While load center point location at the center of the block will give smaller both of deflecetion and stresses than at the edge of the block.
