| Summary: | Age of prostitution in the city of Surabaya is almost as old as the capital of
East Java Province. Local regulation of Surabaya city mentioned that social
disabilities and deviant behavior included in the group of Penyandang Masalah
Kesejahteraan Sosial (PMKS). This research was conducted to determine public
attitudes of Surabaya toward prostitution activity whether conducted in
localizations of prostitution through social media, as well as the influence of
public attitudes toward socio cultural resilience of Surabaya city.
This research is a survey. The population used in the research were society
of Surabaya City of 2.929.528 people. The sampling technique using proportional
sampling techniques, which samples were taken in proportion, more or less
comparable to the population in each administrative district of Surabaya, with a
total sample of 400 people. Data collected through questionnaires to test the
research hypothesis, supported by interviews to obtain in-depth information about
the object of research, observation, and literature. Data were processed and
analyzed quantitatively combined with qualitative.
The results of this research showed that there was a positive and
significant effect between the rejection attitude of society towards the existence of
Dolly prostitution localization and online prostitution through Facebook social
networking site with a high socio cultural resilience of Surabaya. This can be
explained from the data processing are: First, the R value of 0.764 explains that
there was a very strong positive relationship between the variable of society
attitude towards the existence of Dolly prostitution localization (X1) and the
variable of society attitude towards online prostitution through Facebook social
networking site (X2) with the socio cultural resilience of Surabaya. Second, the
significance value <0.05 was explained that the variable of society attitude
towards the existence of Dolly prostitution localization (X1) and the variable of
society attitude towards online prostitution through Facebook social networking
site (X2) together were significant predicting the variable of social cultural
resilience of Surabaya (Y). Third, the value of Fhitung > Ftabel ( 278,158 > 3,018 )
which means that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, explaining that there was
a positive and significant effect between the rejection attitude of society towards
the existence of Dolly prostitution localization and the rejection attitude of society
towards online prostitution through Facebook social networking site together both
in the high socio cultural resistance of Surabaya (Y). Fourth, the rejection attitude
of society towards the existence of Dolly prostitution localization and the
rejection attitude of society towards the online prostitution through Facebook
social networking site provides a contribution of 58.4 % to the high socio cultural
resilience of Surabaya.
