| Summary: | This research aims at describing the violation of pragmatic aspects,
language aspects and the function of humour discourse found in Mice Cartoon
comic series collection. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The
subjects of this research are all humor discourses in Mice Cartoon comic series
collection, meanwhile the objects are the ones which contain the violation of
pragmatic aspects, the usage of language aspects, and those which contain many
kinds of discourse functions. The source of the data used in this research are Mice
Cartoon comic series collection titled Obladi Oblada Life Goes On (2012) and
Politik Santun dalam Kartun (2012). In this research, pragmatics is used as the
framework because the unit of analysis is the speech which meaning bound by the
context. Therefore, in analyzing the data, pragmatic method is used, then the
results of analysis are presented informally by using verbal language.
The results show that humour disourse caused by the violation of
pragmatic aspects collection are divided into three aspects: 1) the violation of
cooperative principles, which consists of a) maxim of quantity, b) maxim of
quality, c) maxim of relevance, and d) maxim of manner. 2) The violation of
politeness maxims, which consists of a) tact maxim, b) generosity maxim, c)
approbation maxim, d) modesty maxim, e) agreement maxim, f) sympathy
maxim. 3) The violation of pragmatics parameters, which consists of three
aspects: a) the violation of distance rating b) the violation of social status, c) the
rating of speech atcs status. In addition, the language aspects used by the
cartoonist in creating the humour discourse include: a) phonological aspects,
which consist of sound subtitution, permutation, addition, insertion, and deletion |
