The conflict resolution that Indonesian government did itself is divided into two ranges of time, its short-term conflict resolution with the aim to stop violence and longterm conflict resolution with the aim to resolve the root of the conflict. Through an analysis of various studies that have been done before, books, journals to news in the print media, the author argues that the conflict resolution is done by the Indonesian government is not effective. Short-term conflict resolution conducted by the Indonesian government is not efficient in the implementation process of the resolution of this conflict but managed to stop the open violence so that even though the process is not efficient but short- term conflict resolution it achieves what it aims so that it can be effective. While the long -term conflict resolution, in which the Indonesian government as well act as a mediator and also a facilitator in the process of negotiating peace between Dayaks and Madurese have managed to reach a peace agreement points. But the point in peace agreement resulted in a win -lose solutions. Where ethnic Dayak more advantaged in the points of the peace agreement than the ethnic Madures. In addition, there are also some problems that arise post- conflict situation, which needs to get serious attention from the Indonesian government because these new issues, its not impossible to be potential to become the new root of the conflict and make a conflict of Sampit vol 2. This thesis also gives some suggestions to deficiencies in resolution conflict conducted by the Indonesian government in the hope that a similar conflict does not occur again in Sampit and in other parts of Indonesia.
