Summary: | Gadjah Mada University is a target for prospective students. and have
a concept of Higher Education Long Term Strategy (HELTS) that supports
students by providing academic support facilities such as supporting
accomodation facilities as a means of adaptation that takes into account the
environment. The absence of the International Student Housing UGM run into
the idea of the idea of the author. The problems are resolved design occupant
accommodation facilities with the goal of foreign students to present their
vision of creating student housing with HELTS as a means of adaptation.
Bioclimatic design is the design process by taking into account the climate and
the situation around the site that is expected to minimize energy use. Minimize
energy among others by minimizing the absorption of solar heat into the
building, maximizing the waste heat to the outside of the building, the
application of jalousie, openings and vegetation around the building. HELTS
idea aims to provide facilities to the new students to get the close
accomodation, economically viable and livable so hopefully there will be
adaptation and learning process smooth and effective. Building integrated with
a shared space in such a way that encourages social interaction that facilitate
adaptation.
