Summary:The purpose of this final paper was to examine the relation between Body Condition Score (BCS) and pregnancy rate of dairy cattle in Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah Balai Penelitian Bibit Pakan Ternak dan Diagnostik Kehewanan (UPTD BPBPTDK) Pakem Sleman Yogyakarta. The researcher collected the data by direct observation on dairy cattle. Moreover the researcher also consulted some reliable sources in cattle reproductive field. This research was conducted during fieldwork in practice 10 to 14 March 2014. The subjects of this research were 24 dairy cattles Frisian Hostein in their productive age. The method of direct observation was done by examining the parts of cattle�s body such as hook, pin, tail head and ribs. Then the data gathered were consulted to the veterinary in order to achieve the realibility of the data. The result for this research were dairy cattles with BCS 2,6-3,0 had pregnancy rate 50% and dairy cattles with BCS 2,0-2,5 had pregnancy rate 33,3%. Furthermore, this research also showed that dairy cattles with BCS 2,6-3,0 had better reproductive performance than dairy cattles with BCS 2,6-3,0 from puberty age, estrous cycle, calving interval and service per conception consideration. The conclusion of the research was BCS have a great effect to the pregnancy rate of dairy cattles.
